MINDEF PRIDE Day :: 29 may 2006

STIKFASª seems a good choice when it comes to tokens to colleagues or staff as 5000 members of the Ministry of Defence finds out, the good way. Since the DMG Alpha Male figure, more MINDEF staff were presented with Stik-goodness. 5000 small STIKFASª goodie bags, each with a tan Alpha Male figure and an original Stiker sheet, were commissioned by MINDEF for their 19th MINDEF PRIDE day. With the slogan "New Mindsets New Possibilities", STIKFASª does seem to be the perfect novelty item for this event.

More goodies in the Stikfas.com online shop. Cuboydsª, the pre-assembled cubic cousin of STIKFASª, is now available for purchase. Every box you buy comes with 12 individually blind packed figures. But no worrries, about the blind assortments. Each box has 3 of each of the four assortment colours so you're certain what you'll get in the box. But for Kootikootiª, it's truly a blind assortment. The Kootikootiª wrestling stiks will also be available by the box, each containing 20 blind assortment packs. Each packs comes with 2 kootis but you don't know what you're going to get. Could it be a 10 pointer or the very rare 1280 pointer? Who knows. So if you do not have distribution in your area for these two new product brands, here's one place where you can get them. For loose purchase at retail, do check with your local distributors.

Meet-A-Designer :: 15 may 2006

Saturday, 13th May, a group of 20 teachers from different schools around Singapore visited the STIKFASª HQ under the programme dubbed "Meet-A-Designer" organised by the Ministry of Education. In a simple morning session, they were shown the environment we worked and sat through a session with Mr Banyj where they learnt the STIKFASª way of innovation and creative thinking. Students always found it a thrill to visit a toy company, and for once, the teachers get to feel a refreshing change as well.

RJC Anniversary Stik! :: 11 may 2006

Raffles refers commonly to Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore back in 1819. But here in our little nation, Raffles is also the name of some great education institutions, one of which is Raffles Junior College. On 8th April, Raffles Juniour College celebrated its 25th Anniversary along with the official opening of its new campus. As a token to the college students, the school commissioned a series of 1500 STIKFASª goodie bags dubbed "The Rafflesian", in the college colours. These were given to the kids. Half of which were boy versions, which was a white Alpha Male with "Raffles" print, green baseball accessories and black rock star accessories; and the other half were girl versions with a white Beta Female with "Raffles" print, a green skirt, green fencing accessories and black pop star accessories. All the sets were personally numbered by the college staff. And if you google for these things, you might find some interesting feedback on the net among the students' blogs!

Katoots Reloaded :: 8 may 2006

The STIKFASª forum in Katoots.com has always been a main avenue for communications among local StikFans and also for foreign StikFans to communicate with them. But recently visitors have had problems accessing the forum pages due to a 'nuclear fallout' in the Katoots server. Since then, access has been restricted till the 'nuke' effects have been settled. And now, it seems they're back, at www.katoots-reloaded.com. This is a temporary site while the major repair work is done on the original site, but all features are complete. Those of you who have been missing out on the Singaporean StikFan action, do drop in and let them know you survived the 'nuke'.

A new section has been added to Stikfas.com where you can view the list of print / online articles about STIKFASª since the beginning. Drop in, take a look and see how far we've come and how much we've gone through.

THE WINNING NUMBER : 1183! :: 2 may 2006

SO it has been a month of guessing, speculation and various mathematical strategies applied. And after a whooping 185 entries, with guesses from as low as 175 to as high as 10,256, we've finally come to the results. Ladies and gentlemen, the numbers that you've been looking for - 1183! Again, applause for Damien who counted every single bit in the glass jar. About half the crowd were within the high hundreds and the one thousand range and about a dozen of you within 50 away from the actual result. But end of the day, three persons came closest among you all. We have Ng Chenyee with 1157 (a difference of 26), Rochvail with 1164 (difference of 19) and Sam Scheidler with 1200, a mere 17 away from the result. Our three top guessers will be contacted directly for their prize, a Mega Pack Assault Team each, autographed by Mr Banyj!
Thank you all for your participation. Look out for our next wacky contest.
